Police officer recovers stolen bike, returns it to 13-year-old in Citrus Heights

CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. — After a 13-year-old boy had his bicycle stolen last month in Citrus Heights, a police officer returned it to him Friday following a weekslong investigation.

On Nov. 12, the boy went to Rusch Community Park to ride bikes with friends, according to his stepmother, who asked not to be identified. He reportedly did not know one of his friends arranged to meet there with an online marketplace vendor about a possible bike trade.

That vendor, who the family identified as another teenager, saw the 13-year-old’s bike upon arrival and allegedly stole it, the stepmother said in an email to ABC10…
