Gwen Stefani returned on Dec. 6 to The Venue at Thunder Valley for the second time in two years to a nearly sold-out crowd of almost 4,500.
The 90-minute show had Stefani perform her hits spanning three decades with an incorporation of not only her solo hits but the radio chart-topping songs that brought her to fame from her younger days with No Doubt.
The Venue in Lincoln is fairly new to hosting concerts as it opened on Valentine’s Day 2023 with the first band to perform, The Eagles. The Venue is not only known for its intimate setting but also a vibrant atmosphere with modern touches and a theater-like-feel. Once inside, The Venue seems larger than what it appears from the outside. On-site parking is free with its only entrance requiring the audience to walk through the actual casino for entry. The audience was diverse from many elders filling the seats, to young pre-teens with their parents and all ages in between.
Once Stefani started the show she had the audience on their feet jamming to the opening number “The Sweet Escape” charting from 2006. The show consisted of an actual band and back-up dancers. The show also had great lighting that was synced with the music and a giant digital screen with backdrops to allow for more entertaining visuals. The volume of the music was just right, not too loud and not too low…
