SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Rosie Gayton, a longtime KXTV reporter and Sacramento native, died Friday after battling cancer. She was 72.
Gayton was hired by KXTV in the late 1970s to produce and host “Chicano Perspective” after the station expressed interest in a weekly half-hour show serving the Hispanic community, according to the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Northern California Chapter.
