Sacramento police arrest man after taking child and running from officers

Just after 2:30 p.m., Sacramento police said its officers responded to the 1400 block of 30th Street for a welfare check for a possible domestic violence-related incident. Responding officers learned the male involved in the incident had left the scene with his child in the car.

When officers found the vehicle, they attempted to stop it; however, the driver failed to yield and started a pursuit, SPD said. The pursuit was ended due to the conditions and at some point, the child was dropped off with a family member.
