An early morning crash in downtown Sacramento sent one driver to the hospital with severe injuries on Sunday, after two vehicles collided near the intersection of 12th and I streets. One car was left heavily damaged, while everyone inside the other vehicle walked away unhurt. Emergency crews shut down the area for a time as investigators documented the scene and cleared the wreckage.
The Sacramento Police Department said officers spotted a car traveling at a high rate of speed at about 1 a.m., then later found it had crashed into another vehicle. The speeding driver was taken to a hospital and listed in critical condition, while the occupants of the second car were not injured, according to FOX40.
Intersection Has A History Of Crashes
The corner of 12th and I is no stranger to wrecks. In recent years, multiple crashes there have damaged downtown storefronts and sent people to the hospital.
