Skalet Family Jewelers, a long-standing presence in Old Sacramento’s business community, has concluded its more than century-long run after serving customers with their craftsmanship.
John Skalet and his wife opened the store in Sacramento in 1975, establishing a legacy that became an integral part of the city’s history before the business closed on yesterday.
The history of Skalet Jewelers dates back to Ben Skalet, a goldsmith and Russian immigrant who moved to New York City in the 1880s, according to KCRA. Over the years, his legacy was passed down through four generations, leading to a final “going out of business” sale with discounts up to 80%.
