Around 4:15 p.m., California Department of Transportation cameras showed a semi truck engulfed in flames on Southbound I-5 Airport Boulevard. According to an incident report, the truck was carrying nearly 43,000 pounds of rice, and several firefighters are on their way to battle the flames.
It is unclear what caused the flames. However, traffic headed to the airport is backed up for several miles, and there is a thick cloud of smoke surrounding the area, according to video surveillance.
