A 10-year-old child was hit by a vehicle in Rio Linda on Sunday evening and taken to the hospital with moderate injuries, according to emergency officials. The collision was reported around 5:43 p.m. in the area of Cherry Lane and Elkhorn Boulevard.
The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said its crews treated the child at the scene and transported the patient to a nearby hospital. The California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation into the crash, as reported by FOX40.
