Woman dies after crashing into a pole in Citrus Heights, possible DUI

According to the Citrus Heights police, officers received an automated crash alert from an SUV involving a solo-vehicle crash into a utility pole in the area of Greenback Lane and Dewey Drive.

CHPD reported that when officers arrived around 1:54 a.m., they found a car that had crashed into a utility pole and the woman who was the driver was unresponsive. Officers began lifesaving measures until the driver was transported to a local hospital by the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.

Citrus Heights police said despite life-saving measures, the driver was unable to be revived and was pronounced dead at the hospital…
