California Nurses To Protest New Staffing Rules

California nurses will march in Sacramento on Wednesday to protest new state rules impacting hospital staffing.

The California Nurses Association, representing over 100-thousand nurses, will march from Cesar Chavez Plaza to the California Health & Human Services Agency at noon. Nurses are concerned that new state standards will let hospitals use fewer registered nurses, especially in psychiatric hospitals, by counting other types of staff toward minimum staffing levels.
