Suspect in deadly San Jose police shooting identified

(KRON) — The suspect who died during a shootout with San Jose police officers on Wednesday has been identified as 30-year-old Mohamed Husien of Davis. Husien was killed Wednesday following an armed carjacking earlier that afternoon, according to the San Jose Police Department.

Husien, according to police, has no known connections to San Jose at this time.

A San Jose police sergeant was injured in the shooting and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The sergeant was shot in the head, but is expected to survive, according to police.
