Woman killed at Folsom light rail station was beloved local dance instructor

The young woman killed in a tragic traffic collision at a Folsom light rail station last week was a beloved local dance instructor whose passion for teaching, creativity and connection touched countless others across the region.

She has been identified as Elinor Peace Steffy, a 22-year-old Sacramento resident who taught at the Hawkins School of the Performing Arts in Folsom and was traveling for work at the time of her death, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

Steffy was waiting for a light rail train on Thursday, Jan. 22, when a vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed into the station’s boarding area. Emergency responders confirmed she died at the scene…
