Chaos unfolded in a southeast Sacramento neighborhood last Saturday night when a combination of illegal fireworks and reckless driving escalated into a vehicle pursuit by police, resulting in two arrests. According to FOX40, the Sacramento Police Department (SPD) responded to scenes of a car driving dangerously amid a backdrop of fireworks at around 11:30 p.m. near Florin Perkins Road and Fruitridge Road. An attempt to stop the vehicle was met with the driver’s decision to flee at a high rate of speed, prompting a chase.
The pursuit ended with the vehicle coming to a stop and the occupants—a driver, another adult, and a 15-year-old—attempting to evade police on foot.
