Sacramento County health inspectors closed four local eateries including a poultry shop, a Latino supermarket, a Chinese restaurant and an Indian sweet shop due to a lack of hot water and dead and live cockroaches in the facility.
Meanwhile, a total of 18 eateries received yellow placards for health code violations ranging from employees coughing into a mixing bowl and “pink slime.”

While a yellow placard signals two or more major violations, these are typically corrected or mitigated during the inspection, according to the Sacramento County Retail Food Inspection Guide.
