Taqueria La Perla Tapatia, the family-run Arden-Arcade taqueria that turned seafood towers and a sprawling salsa bar into a destination, is gearing up for a broader Sacramento takeover. Filings and online teasers point to at least two new locations in the works: one in Rancho Cordova’s Capital Village and another somewhere in South Sacramento. For fans already willing to trek to Taylor Center, relief might soon be a lot closer to home.
Partner Toni Elizabeth Malarkey has applied for a beer-and-wine license tied to a new Taqueria La Perla Tapatia at 3221 Zinfandel Drive, Suite 3 in Rancho Cordova’s Capital Village shopping plaza, according to What Now Sacramento. That outlet also notes that the taqueria’s site lists a “South Sacramento” location as “coming soon,” and that restaurant representatives were not available for comment at the time of publication.
Permits show work at Rancho Cordova site
Building-permit listings on BuildZoom show tenant-improvement filings for 3221 Zinfandel Drive associated with La Perla Tapatia. Where the new spots would sit

Family operation points to a regional push
The same family behind La Perla Tapatia also operates Taqueria La Nueva Vallarta, which lists locations at 3305 Northgate Blvd in Sacramento and 10305 Fairway Dr in Roseville. Both brands lean into casual counter service and salsa bars. Taqueria La Nueva Vallarta highlights those addresses and menu staples on its site, and reporting has flagged a third outpost under construction in Lodi. What Now Sacramento detailed the Lodi filing…
