Suspect in Mather standoff with Sacramento deputies facing gun, domestic violence charges

A suspect surrendered and was in custody after an hourslong standoff Thursday with Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies in eastern Sacramento County.

Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies surrounded the man Thursday after responding to a report of shots fired at home during a reported domestic violence incident in the Mather community.

The call came in around 12:30 p.m. on the 4300 block of McRoberts Drive, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. At least one shot was fired, and the suspect remained at the scene…
