February art exhibits and workshops in Rancho Cordova

Celebrate art and community this February in Rancho Cordova with free exhibits and workshops. The MACC at 10191 Mills Station Rd hosts two exhibits through February 21. Ancestral Alchemy: Sacredness of Black Women by artist Yannah Evans explores the sacredness of Black women through spiritual and imaginative art. A special artist talk and reception will be held on Friday, February 6 from 5:30 PM to 7 PM.

The second exhibit, Voices in Thread, features textile art from the Social Justice Sewing Academy, empowering youth to express themselves through sewing. In addition, Ri-Nu Studios at 9719 Lincoln Village Dr, Suite 500 will host free Healing Through the Arts watercolor workshops on the second, third, and fourth Sundays from 12 PM to 2 PM, including a session with artist Kelly O’Neill on February 15.
