Suspect arrested by Sac PD on account of shootings and narcotic charges

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A suspect and convicted felon has been arrested in relation to firearm and narcotic charges on January 21, according to Sacramento Police Department.

Juan Rodriguez, 26 and of Sacramento, was seen walking in the streets firing a handgun before he was quickly apprehended by police. The incident occurred around 8pm in the 6800 block of Cherrywood Circle. No injuries were reported, however a nearby vehicle was struck by gunfire.

13 spent casings and five live rounds were found in multiple locations, as well as a 45-caliber pistol with a high-capacity magazine. Rodriguez was officially charged with driving with a breath alcohol level of .08 or more, unlawful possession of controlled substances, discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner, discharging a firearm at an unoccupied motor vehicle, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
