Man rescued by firefighters after car swept away in floodwaters

(FOX40.COM) — A man was saved by the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District after standing on top of his car, after it had been overtaken by floodwater in South Sacramento on Tuesday evening. • Video above: Flood Safety tips

According to fire officials, firefighters were dispatched to Kiefer Boulevard south of Grant Line Road, where they found a man standing on top of his vehicle surrounded by rising water.

Metro Fire’s water rescue team deployed a rescue boat, reached the man and safely transported him to dry ground. No injuries were reported.
