Sweet Williams Tavern is moving into the former Tonno’s Bar & Grill space at 312 E Bidwell Street in Folsom, bringing classic American comfort food, a full bar and a late-night menu to the neighborhood spot. Owner Heather Bailey, a longtime Sacramento-area bartender and manager, says the tavern is meant as a tribute to her father while also building a relaxed local hangout. Weekend brunch is slated for April, and the lineup will feature karaoke nights alongside burgers, shareable plates and hearty entrées. The shift comes on the heels of the Folsom outpost of Tonno’s closing its doors.
Sweet Williams is set to open at 312 E Bidwell, in the same unit Tonno’s recently vacated, according to What Now Sacramento. Bailey told the outlet she plans a “high emphasis on food,” with a late-night menu kicking in after 9 or 10 p.m. The tavern is currently hiring both front- and back-of-house staff and plans to lock in a grand-opening date once the team is in place.
From Tonno’s To A New Tavern
The East Bidwell address was most recently home to Tonno’s Bar & Grill, which expanded from its established Orangevale location into Folsom in 2023, as reported by the Folsom Times. Tonno’s website now highlights only its Orangevale address, while the Folsom space appears vacant as the new tenant gears up to open (Tonno’s website). For locals, it is another example of homegrown operators trying out fresh concepts in familiar storefronts along one of Folsom’s busier corridors.
Menu, Hours And Neighborhood Fit
Bailey told What Now Sacramento that Sweet Williams will zero in on classic American dishes and handcrafted cocktails, with weekend brunch arriving in April and a late-night menu serving evening crowds. Karaoke nights are part of the planned entertainment, and the bar is expected to pour a full range of beer, wine and cocktails. An exact opening date has not yet been announced, and the team says it will share hiring updates and the grand-opening celebration date once staffing is finalized…
