Cerealism Dessert Bar & Craft Café, the cereal-themed spot in Old Sacramento, has hit pause at 128 K Street while the owner renovates the space. The closure spans February and March, and the team says the sugary playground will be back later this spring.
In a Feb. 2 social post cited by What Now Sacramento, the shop told fans, “We’ll be temporarily closed February & March while we renovate and level up your Cerealism experience.” The message did not include a firm reopening date and framed the move as a temporary pause rather than a permanent shutdown.

What’s Closed And When
Cerealism was founded by Laterica Reddix-Espinoza and opened its Old Sacramento location in late 2022, according to KCRA. Since then it has been known for colorful, photo-ready rooms and late-night weekend hours that pull in everyone from families on sugar hunts to content creators looking for a bright backdrop.
What’s On The Menu And Inside
The business promotes more than 75 cereal varieties, 50-plus toppings and flavored milks, plus a lineup that ranges from classic bowls to cereal-infused ice cream, milkshakes, cereal toast, cereal sushi and cereal tacos, per the Old Sacramento Waterfront business listing. Inside, four themed rooms, including a Froot Loops “Toucan Sam” room and a Super Mario gaming lounge, are part of the draw along with the menu. Renovations could shuffle some of those details, although the owner has not said which rooms or items, if any, are on the chopping block.
Why The Pause Matters For Old Sacramento
The timing lands while the Old Sacramento waterfront is in the middle of a multimillion dollar reinvestment effort that city officials say will pay for boardwalk repairs and new public amenities, including a children’s play area, according to CBS Sacramento. At the same time, local reporting has chronicled a tougher business climate in the district, with closures, construction and softer foot traffic all in the mix, a backdrop that may be nudging some owners to rethink or refresh their concepts, KCRA noted.
When To Expect It Back
An exact reopening date is still to be announced. The Feb. 2 social post referenced by What Now Sacramento said the pause would run through February and March and promised that Cerealism would return “better than ever.” For now, the Old Sacramento directory points customers to the café’s website and Instagram as the main places to watch for updates…
