A Thursday night walk in south Sacramento turned tragic when a pedestrian was struck and killed near the intersection of Stockton Boulevard and Massie Court. Firefighters and other emergency personnel tried to revive the person at the scene with life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead. Authorities are withholding the victim’s name until family members can be notified.
What happened
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported around 7:23 p.m. Initial accounts say the pedestrian was lying in the northbound lanes of Stockton Boulevard when a vehicle hit them.
