(FOX40.COM) — The Folsom Police Department announced it will conduct a driving under the influence checkpoint on March 17 during evening hours at an undisclosed location within the city.
According to Folsom police, checkpoint locations are selected based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. FPD said that the primary goal of the enforcement operation is to promote public safety by identifying and removing suspected impaired drivers from the road.
“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk,” Sgt. Paul Rice said in a statement. “Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improves traffic safety.”…
