Sacramento police said they detained a suspect in a deadly shooting in the Oak Park area on Thursday after hours of negotiations.
Police said the suspect was connected to a shooting that happened around 1:15 p.m. in the area of Washington Avenue between 14th Avenue and 17th Avenue. Officers said the victim, a man, died at the scene.
The police department said the suspect took off from the scene of a shooting and was located in a vehicle. When officers tried to stop the suspect, a pursuit was initiated before coming to an end along the 3300 block of 12th Avenue, about half a mile from the shooting scene…
