Carjacking suspect arrested following high-speed pursuit across several counties

SUISUN CITY, Calif. — A 35-year-old Hayward man was arrested Saturday night after leading multiple law enforcement agencies on a dramatic pursuit that spanned several cities in Solano and Napa Counties.

Fairfield Police say they responded around 9:24 p.m. to a reported carjacking near Woolner Avenue and Lawrence Street. Officers quickly issued a BOLO (Be On the Lookout) for the stolen vehicle. The suspect, later identified as Oscar Garcia-Cerrato, was spotted shortly after near Pennsylvania Avenue and Highway 12. When officers attempted to stop him, he fled eastbound on Highway 12, initiating a chase that stretched into Suisun City.

The first pursuit ended after Garcia-Cerrato drove the wrong way on Lawler Ranch Parkway. Officers from Fairfield and Suisun worked together to secure exit points and conduct a grid search. During the operation, Suisun Police located the stolen vehicle again, but Garcia-Cerrato rammed a patrol car and sped away, triggering a second pursuit that continued west on Highway 12 under California Highway Patrol supervision…
