West Sacramento teachers reach deal with district, avoid strike

(FOX40.COM) — West Sacramento teachers have a new deal with Washington Unified School District, earning a major wage increase and averting a strike.

The West Sacramento Teachers Association announced the tentative agreement Wednesday, calling it a “powerful” deal that will help both educators and students.

“This is a win for the entire West Sacramento community,” union president Doug Knepp said in a news release. “We are proud to have reached an agreement that will help retain and recruit educators and strengthen our schools and classrooms for years to come.”…
