SACRAMENTO, California — Luis Eduardo Torres-Hernandez, a 40-year-old Mexican national residing in Sacramento, has pleaded guilty to firearm possession and illegal reentry into the United States.
According to U.S. Attorney Eric Grant, Torres-Hernandez admitted to one count of being an unlawful alien in possession of firearms and one count of illegally re-entering the United States after being previously removed. Court documents reveal that in September 2024, undercover law enforcement agents discovered Torres-Hernandez in the Sacramento area selling multiple sets of false identification documents, including Permanent Resident green cards and Social Security cards. Subsequently, agents recovered several firearms from his possession, including a Windham Weaponry 5.56 caliber rifle, a Ruger 9 mm caliber pistol, and a Sig Sauer 9 mm caliber pistol.
Torres-Hernandez, who has been removed from the United States multiple times, is prohibited from possessing firearms. The indictment states that on August 29, 2014, he was deported following a conviction for selling false documents in the Eastern District of California…
