The body of a 17-year-old boy was recovered after he went missing in the American River late Thursday morning, authorities said.
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office said a witness saw the teen enter the water around 10:30 a.m. near the confluence in the Auburn area and called 911 after he didn’t resurface.
