(FOX40.COM) — Wednesday marks Earth Day and the Sacramento Regional Transit District is offering fare-free rides on all fixed‑route buses and light rail trains in an effort to encourage the community to choose a more sustainable way to travel.
“Transportation is one of the largest contributors to air pollution, with single occupancy vehicles creating a significant share of emissions,” officials with SacRT said. “By opting for public transit, even for a single trip, riders can make a meaningful impact on air quality and help build a healthier region.”
Those wanting to participate can print or screenshot the following flyer and present it to operators or transit agents when boarding.
