Roseville firefighters contain fire sparked by controlled burn

ROSEVILLE, Calif. — Firefighters responded to a fire sparked by a controlled burn around 12:29 p.m. in Roseville, according to the Roseville Fire Department.

The fire happened in the Cresthaven neighborhood. Roseville Fire said a tree caught fire during a controlled burn, and strong winds caused the flames to spread to surrounding vegetation and a detached outbuilding. The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District assisted Roseville crews in containing the fire and preventing it from spreading to additional structures nearby.

The Roseville Police Department and Placer County Sheriff’s Office temporarily evacuated nearby residents as a precaution, according to Roseville Fire. Residents have since been allowed to return home. No injuries were reported, Roseville Fire said…
