Charge filed for $31,000 tire scam in St. Louis Circuit Court

ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis man appeared in court Tuesday afternoon for scamming a tire retailer and auto service business.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, Cameron Donaby, 31, ran the scam from Nov. 14 to Dec. 1, 2023, at the Best One Tire & Service on Brown Avenue in the city’s Mark Twain I-70 Industrial neighborhood.

Police said Donaby used several stolen and fake credit cards to purchase tires. He would pick up the tires before the transactions went through. After Donaby got the tires, the payments were all declined by a third-party payment company.
