Brighton man faces assault, criminal action charges

A Brighton man faces charges after police said he shot at a couple’s vehicle in St. Louis on May 17. 19-year-old Anthony Lee-Armstrong faces two counts of first-degree assault, four counts of armed criminal action, one count of first-degree property damage and one count of unlawful use of a weapon.

The shooting took place at Russell Boulevard and South Jefferson Avenue. A police statement said the man and woman were driving with their 2-year-old child when a black Honda sedan cut them off. They followed the Honda and an accompanying Volkswagen into a gas station parking lot. The man confronted the drivers about the incident, then left. The suspects allegedly followed the couple, at times driving into oncoming traffic to keep up. The police statement said security camera footage showed that when the victims tried to make a U-turn, several gunshots were fired from the driver’s seat of the Volkswagen…
