Woman charged for spraying adult, teen with bear mace in Overland

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A woman was charged after spraying bear mace at an adult and a teenager inside a store in Overland.

According to the Overland Police Department, the incident occurred May 26 at a Dollar Tree in Overland.

Police said Makiyah Steele (age not provided) sprayed an adult and a 15-year-old with Frontiersman MAX Bear and Mountain Lion Attack Deterrent, a type of pepper spray not intended for use against humans. The attack was unprovoked and captured through security cameras, police said.
