Legionella bacteria found in water at SLPS central office, employees moved to other buildings

ST. LOUIS — Saint Louis Public Schools limited access to its central office building as a precaution after testing found Legionella bacteria in portions of the building’s water system.

In a press release, the district said it has shut down water-related systems at the building and restricted access to the facility. The district will conduct additional testing to determine the extent of the bacteria and “whether it presents any health or safety risk.”
