Route 66 ice cream shop in Granite City celebrates Mother Road’s 100th birthday

GRANITE CITY, Ill. (First Alert 4) – As Route 66 celebrates 100 years, a small ice cream shop in Granite City continues to serve travelers from around the world.

Mister Twist opened in 1977 when Mary and Felix Uriosty bought an old Dairy Queen building. The shop serves ice cream and sherbet made from Mary’s original recipe.
