ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis man was sentenced to 19 years in prison on Monday after pleading guilty to the 2022 killing of a Jefferson County man in St. Louis’ Mount Pleasant neighborhood.
James Rogers, 29, avoided a trial on charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action by reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors in St. Louis Circuit Court. Rogers pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and armed criminal action in the Aug. 15, 2022, death of 31-year-old Michael Wiott.
