St. Louis Park Reports Presence of Invasive Worm

Let’s hope what was just found in a St. Louis, Missouri park isn’t something that starts being found across the state. A nasty invasive worm was found in a St. Louis park and officials say you should kill it on sight.

I saw someone mention this discovery on the Missouri sub-Reddit. That led me to a share on social media from the St. Louis County Parks and Recreation regarding the invasive Hammerhead Worm that is all kinds of bad news.

I’ll reemphasize what they said in their social media share. This is a worm you don’t want to touch with your bare hands as it can and will release toxins that can do bad things to you and/or your pets.

What can you do to euthanize a Hammerhead worm?

As the St. Louis Parks and Rec said, put on gloves and put the worm in a sealed bag. Do not try to cut it in half as it can reproduce itself. You can add vinegar, rubbing alcohol, salt, or soapy water to the bag to kill the worm. Putting it in a freezer for two days works, too, but who wants one of these in your freezer? Nope…
