Police say they are focused on stopping ‘teen takeovers’ of city streets this summer

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – St. Louis Metropolitan Police (SLMPD) are ramping up efforts to prevent crime this summer.

The focus is on stopping violent teen takeovers downtown and in other parts of the city.

Officers want to prevent incidents such as those when large groups of teens and young adults caused chaos in the city streets during Spring Break. Police say they were able to stop a similar takeover in downtown over the weekend after they received several 911 calls about a large group of people gathering in the area…
