Man charged after shots fired in West County Center parking garage

DES PERES, Mo. – A man accused of firing shots in a parking garage at West County Center last weekend now faces felony charges.

On Wednesday, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Milek Key, 22, of St. Louis, with:

  • Three counts of armed criminal action
  • Two counts of unlawful use of a weapon
  • One count of first-degree assault
  • One count of unlawful possession of a firearm
  • One count of a weapon on a bus or terminal

The charges stem from a disturbance Saturday during which, police say, shots were fired in the shopping mall’s Ballas Parking Garage, striking and damaging multiple vehicles. No injuries were reported.

According to a Des Peres Police Department probable cause statement, on June 13, police responded to reports of people flourishing firearms and gunshots in the parking garage.
