Dexter man faces child abuse/neglect after 4-month-old flown to St. Louis for treatment of injuries

DEXTER, Mo. (KFVS) – Dexter Police say a 32-year-old man faces a child abuse and neglect charge after a four-month-old child had to be flown to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis for treatment of injuries.

Dexter Police Chief Hank Trout says detectives with his department began investigating the case after a tip through the Missouri Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline.

Dexter investigators say they discovered injuries consistent with child abuse and took the child to a Heartland hospital. While there, medical personnel discovered more injuries that did not appear to be accidental…
