ST. LOUIS – Thousands are preparing to head downtown for Fourth of July festivities. Organizers are planning on massive crowds, as well as dangerous heat. The Gateway Arch grounds are expected to be packed as Celebrate 250 marks America’s milestone birthday with two days of music, fireworks, family activities, and patriotic celebrations.
“We want to make sure everybody feels safe, everybody is enjoying family, fun, and events that we have, and come down and enjoy it all for free. Which is one of the really great things that we’ve been able to do,” Jessica Fox, Celebrate St. Louis, said. With temperatures expected to climb, Cool Down St. Louis is stepping up with advice to help visitors beat the heat; most importantly, checking on seniors.
