Teen charged for string of car break-ins across Soulard

ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis teenager is facing multiple charges after prosecutors allege he was involved in a series of car break-ins and thefts across Soulard.

According to a St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department probable cause statement, officers got a tip of multiple car break-ins during the early morning hours of Jan. 18. Police said surveillance video showed a white Ford Taurus driving through the neighborhood while the people inside targeted parked cars.

Detectives traced that car to its owner, and during an interview with investigators, the owner reportedly confirmed that her son had been driving the car with his friends at the time of those incidents.
