Father said child was living in Amish community, arrested after police find remains: cops

STOOKEY TOWNSHIP, Ill. (WKRC) – A father who allegedly told police his missing child was staying with an Amish community was arrested after police reportedly found the child’s remains.

According to a release from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police, the department was contacted by a mother in July 2024 who said that she had not seen her child since May 2024. She said that she last saw the child with their father, who shared custody with the mother.

During the investigation, detectives reportedly received conflicting accounts of the child’s whereabouts from the child’s mother and father. The father allegedly claimed “the child was living with an Amish community in Mississippi and stated he had recently seen the child.”…
