Leasing employee kept $50K in rent payments for herself: Police

CLAYTON, Mo. – A Ferguson woman is accused of swindling the apartment complex she worked for out of tens of thousands of dollars in payments from renters.

Dominique C. Coburn (age not provided) operated the scheme from Sept. 23, 2024, to Nov. 24, 2025, according to the Creve Coeur Police Department’s probable cause statement.

Coburn, who worked in the Millennium leasing office, was accepting money orders from renters on behalf of Millennium. Investigators said Coburn posted the rent credit to the renters’ accounts but then altered each money order by adding her name as the payee and deposited the money orders into her personal bank account…
