St. Louis City fines Mark Twain property after First Alert 4 report

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – New records obtained by First Alert 4 Investigates show the City of St. Louis cited the Mark Twain Hotel in downtown St. Louis for multiple code violations this spring, then later issued a fine order tied to open violations at the property’s address.

Building Division records show an inspection dated March 11, 2026, at 205 N. 9th St., which “was inspected and found to be in violation of certain provisions of the Property Maintenance Code or other City Ordinances.”

In the same notice, the city wrote: “I have scheduled a re-inspection of the premise(s) on or about April 10, 2026, to determine compliance or progress toward compliance of the violations cited.”…
