Paddle After Dark returns to Simpson Park with nighttime floats and a cleaner-water mission

If high temperatures and stifling humidity have hindered your summer float trip planning, there’s still time to snag one of the last remaining tickets for spending a summer night on the water.

This Friday, July 17, marks the return of Paddle After Dark, an annual fundraiser at Simpson Park organized by outdoor nonprofit Open Spaces STL in partnership with Saint Louis County Parks and Recreation Department, Swade Cannabis, Four Hands Brewing Co., Alpine Shop, and Big Muddy Adventures.

Attendees can rent a solo paddleboard, kayak, or two-person kayaks or canoes for the evening or bring their own boat during three time slots from 5:30–10 p.m. Paddling tickets range from $50 for a solo paddleboard to $80 for a two-person canoe. The bring-your-own-boat option is $40…
