ST. LOUIS – All St. Louis-area Pasta House locations have stopped serving Pasta House salads, for now, as federal health officials investigate a rise in cyclospora illnesses nationwide.
Cyclosporiasis is an intestinal illness caused by a microscopic parasite, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. People can become infected by consuming contaminated food or water, leading to watery diarrhea, and in some cases, explosive bowel movements.
