CLAYTON, Mo. – A Ferguson man is facing felony charges after allegedly stealing $9,300 from the Home Depot where he worked as a head cashier. He also admitted to stealing more than $100,000 over a two-month period.
According to a St. Louis County Police Department probable cause statement, the thefts occurred on July 12 and July 14 at the Home Depot located in the 10930 block of New Halls Ferry Road.
Investigators began looking into multiple thefts after Home Depot employees reported missing money from cash deposits. Police say Tashuan Thompson, who worked as a head cashier, was responsible for emptying cash registers into a money-counting machine. Surveillance video allegedly showed him pocketing stacks of dollar bills instead of depositing them.
