Murder charge dropped against father of infant killed by 10-year-old in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS – Prosecutors have dismissed a second-degree murder charge against a father whose 7-month-old baby was fatally shot by a 10-year-old last month in St. Louis.

On Friday, a grand jury declined to indict Ca’Marion Pawnell returned a “no true bill” on the second-degree murder charge, declining to issue an indictment. Prosecutors then filed a notice to formally dismiss the charge.

Pawnell is still charged with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child resulting in death, and two counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child for putting the other two kids at risk…
