MSD warns of service shutoffs for St. Louis-area businesses with unpaid bills

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis-area businesses with long-standing, unpaid sewer bills could face wastewater service disconnections as soon as next month, according to the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District.

On Tuesday, MSD Project Clear announced plans to begin a “phased wastewater service disconnection program” aimed at collecting unpaid sewer bills.

MSD says the first phase could begin as soon as Oct. 1 and will focus on “commercial accounts with large, long-standing balances” that remain unpaid after multiple notices and outreach efforts…
